What is SOAR? (Student Orientation and Registration)

SOAR - Student Orientation and Registration was created for all new first‑year students and is the key step to get registered for fall. We want every student to feel welcomed, prepared, and confident as they begin their CSC journey. 

During SOAR, you will:

• Register for your fall courses and meet with faculty
• Talk to academic advisors and get a printed copy of your class schedule
• Have one-on-one appointments with financial aid specialists
• Explore the support services designed to help you succeed

What do I bring to SOAR?

We recommend wearing comfortable layers and wearing good walking shoes. Shuttle services will be available for anyone in need, but most participants will be walking to different meetings across campus. 

• Transcripts (if you haven't already submitted them) 
• State issued picture ID
• Smartphone or mobile device
• Walking shoes
• Comfortable layers

How do I prepare ahead of time for SOAR?

Before you attend SOAR, login to your MyCSC and complete the items on your to-do list. It's very important to have all transcript requests completed ahead of time, so that you are able to register for classes during SOAR.

What if I'm unable to attend?

This is a required event for all first year, main campus students. If you are unable to attend the scheduled SOAR event either due to distance or schedule conflicts, please contact us at admissions@csc.edu or 308-432-6475.
