SOAR - Student Orientation and Registration
We strive to make each student feel welcomed and prepared to achieve academic success, personal growth, and meaningful connections.
Chadron State College's Orientation provides the opportunity to:
- Register for fall courses and meet faculty
- Understand academic expectations and introduce students to Chadron State College’s student life
- Develop a sense of belonging within the Chadron State community
- Introduce support services dedicated to successful student life
Chadron State College requires all new first-year students to attend a SOAR program. It’s an essential step in helping you register for classes and prepare you for college. If you are a new freshman and live more than 400 miles from campus or you have extenuating circumstances and are unable to attend, please contact us at: orientation@csc.edu.

Questions & Answers
SOAR is a fun, one-day event for new freshmen and transfer students to register for classes and prepare you for college. SOAR takes place the summer after you graduate from high school and gives you the chance to connect with our fantastic staff and faculty and get together with our SOAR leaders. You’ll also get to meet your other fellow Eagles who are just as excited as you are to start their college adventures. So, prepare yourself for a great experience!
All incoming fall, first-year students will receive an invitation through their email to register for an orientation date.
How to register:
- Monitor your personal email for your invitation
- Choose an Orientation date
- Open the link in the invite and register
Before you attend SOAR, login to your MyCSC and complete the items on your to-do list. It's important to have the items checked off of your to-do list, so that you are able to enroll for classes during SOAR. If you still have questions or see any items on your to-do list that you think should be complete, contact admissions we are here to help you through the process at admissions@csc.edu or 308-432-6475.
Yes! Parents/Guardians are encouraged to attend our SOAR and Move-In events with your student. When your student registers for a SOAR event they will have the option to list how many guests will be in attendance.
We recommend bringing the following items with you:
- Comfortable clothes
- Walking shoes
- Refillable water bottle
- State issued picture ID
- Smartphone or mobile device
